Well, it's been awhile. After a crazy busy senior season, and an even crazier holiday season, I just enjoyed the season with the family and took a time-out. The kids are getting bigger, and busier, and keeping up with everything is daunting. I must say, it was nice to breathe for awhile! I think when you take a little break, you come back with a little more "you." Feels good to be back! Hope all of your holidays were about creating memories and cherishing time with all those great people who surround you.

A couple of weddings, lots of senior kids, modeling portfolios, my middle son's graduation from 8th grade, my youngest's First Communion, putting together the 8th grade video, baseball games, volleyball games........phew. Things have been so crazy and hectic....FUN, but crazy and hectic nonetheless. Oh and did I mention a hard drive crash? :(

So, having a photo shoot with Kristin, on a beautiful-Chicago-almost-summer night was just....awesome. So pretty...so sweet...and so fun. Now that I've wrapped up a good amount of my projects, you will be able to view your session very, very soon, Kristin! A little preview...

Aside from being just.plain.gorgeous., Madeline also had the talent of attracting all the wildlife around us. Geese flying overhead, a skittish dog that wouldn't leave us alone...and a rat. Yes, a very large rat hanging out at the bank of the pond. Hmmm...what will we see next time? Can't wait to find out - I had so much fun with ya!!!

Working on the last of the Christmas orders, helping my youngest recover from the tonsils and adenoids being removed, trying to keep the "mom" thing in check as it seems that the boys have even MORE things to do once they're on Christmas "break"...sound familiar anyone?!?

But, in my defense, hasn't this season been CRAZY for everyone? Between gifts and school programs and basketball tournaments and photo shoots and cards and last minute....EVERYTHINGS....there's hardly been a minute to breathe.
I know there are so many more pictures to put up...but as you can see, something is a bit wonky with my blog as of late. The pictures are posting kind of weird...the sizes seem condensed in some cases. (just click on the picture to see the "true" image!) Another thing on the list to do! For now, here are some of the recent shoots... I hope everyone takes some time to wind down now that the holiday stresses are diminishing. Enjoy your families...appreciate the good...make new resolutions to fix what isn't working!

Here you go, Hannah...you and Sweet Pea! This is the first request I've gotten to photograph a senior girl with her pet duck, haha! Not sure that will ever come up again. All you blog readers out there...did you know that a duck can eat a 4 inch praying mantis while you watch? ...that the duck's favorite snack is frozen peas? Chicago is certainly living up to it's "Windy City" nickname these days...and coupled with the COLD, COLD temps it seems we are turning the page into winter. The cold didn't seem to bother "G", though! (If it did, he really hid it well!) You were great to work with, kiddo! Here's the couple I promised!

I've had the opportunity to meet with some wonderful families lately. One, Dena and her bunch...I met awhile ago and we were able to get together again this fall for some beautiful family pictures. Many changes happening over there in the C household! Wow...God is good, huh, Dena??? And another family...Joe and his crew. Can we really have been out of touch for a decade..at least??? It was SO good to chat with you...something we should definitely make a point to do more often. Strange...as kids we ran such similar lives. We've taken different paths since then, but isn't it funny how we've ended up on quite parallel courses in our lives once again? So fun to reminisce...and build new friendships as well.

The kids in this house...well, they're my kinda' kids! We all showed off our doublejointed-ness, our "splits" skills (yes, even me) and even voiced our distaste for some of the clothing choices, haha. (By the way, A, you don't look like a freak in the hat....) Anyway, they were lots of fun...and we got some great pix. Oh...and the DOG. LOVED the dog...whole other story!!!

Thanks, Chris! This family has been waiting to see some sneak peeks, but time has been awfully tight lately! She is one of those moms who is "on the ball." Getting those family photos done way ahead of the holiday season!!
